Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data BG Gaming collects, why, the lawful basis for using it, and what your rights are under the UK GDPR.
1. Who we are
BG Gaming is a trading name of SCUDDER CONSULTANCY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17288846), registered office: 75 Newlyn Drive, Sale, England, M33 3LH. SCUDDER CONSULTANCY LTD is the data controller for the personal data described here.
2. What we collect
- Discord account info: your Discord user ID, username, and avatar URL — obtained via OAuth when you sign in.
- EOS character ID: the Epic Online Services ID of your in-game character, so we can deliver perks to the correct character.
- In-game activity: character name, tribe membership, playtime, and shop transactions — used to operate the servers and the in-game shop.
- Payment info: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive a customer ID and subscription/charge references — we never see or store your card details.
- Session cookie: a single HTTP-only functional cookie keeps you signed in on our website. It holds a random session ID and no personal data.
- Advertising & measurement: if you consent via our cookie banner, Google Ads sets cookies/identifiers so we can measure how many people who clicked our adverts go on to join. See section 5.
- Server-side logs: timestamps, IP addresses, and user agents for security and abuse investigation. Retained for 90 days.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Run your account and deliver perks — lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- Take payment for subscriptions and one-off purchases — lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- Send account notifications via Discord (order confirmations, payment failures, subscription ends) — lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- Prevent cheating, fraud, spam and abuse; keep tax/payment records — lawful basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Advertising measurement (Google Ads) — lawful basis: your consent, which you give or withhold in our cookie banner and can change at any time.
4. Who we share data with
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. Card and billing data goes directly to Stripe; we receive only customer and payment references.
- Discord, Inc. — authentication (OAuth) and account messaging.
- Google (Google Ads / Google Ireland Ltd) — only if you consent to advertising cookies. Google acts as our measurement partner to attribute ad clicks to sign-ups. No advertising data is collected if you decline.
We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers are based outside the UK; where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum).
5. Cookies
We use two kinds of cookie:
- Strictly necessary: one functional session cookie that keeps you signed in. This is always on because the site cannot work without it, and it needs no consent.
- Advertising (Google Ads): set only after you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. They let us measure advert performance. Until you accept, we run in Google Consent Mode with advertising storage denied, so these cookies are not set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site, which will re-show the banner.
6. Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can exercise any of these, or withdraw consent, by contacting us (see section 9).
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
7. Data retention
- Account data: kept while your account is active.
- Payment records: kept for 6 years for tax and accounting compliance.
- Moderation logs: kept for 2 years.
- Server-side access logs: 90 days.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it.
9. Contact
For any privacy question or to make a data request, contact SCUDDER CONSULTANCY LTD via our Discord or by post at 75 Newlyn Drive, Sale, England, M33 3LH. See our Contact page for full details.
