ARK Genesis Ascended Part 1 and Tides of Fortune delayed to July 2 2026 — official promo artwork

released 12 days ago days until Genesis Part 1 actually launches (probably). (Updated live — page last viewed 14 July 2026.)

Is ARK Genesis Part 1 delayed? Yes — new release date is July 2, 2026

Studio Wildcard has officially delayed ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1 and ARK Tides of Fortune from Thursday 25 June 2026 to Thursday 2 July 2026 — a one-week push announced in Community Crunch 512 on 19 June.

The reason, in Wildcard's own words:

"To ensure the experience is where we want it to be across all platforms, we need a few extra days to complete final certification and apply the finishing touches ahead of launch."

Translation, for anyone who's been around the block once or twice with ARK: something didn't pass cert. Probably console. Honest guess: PS5 or Xbox flagged something during the final sign-off, and rather than ship broken across one platform and not the others, the whole launch got bumped.

Which is, frankly, the responsible call. Even if the community has thoughts.

Wait, the community saw this coming?

Of course they did. The top reactions on the official forum announcement, posted within minutes:

  • "Knew there'd be a delay."
  • "Alright everyone, you know the rules: take a shot for the delay."

That second one is a meme so well-established it's basically tradition at this point. Lost Colony was delayed. The boss patch was delayed. The Aberration TLC was delayed. The Ragnarok ASA port was delayed. The pattern is so reliable that experienced ARK players literally bet on it.

So is a 7-day Genesis delay shocking? Roughly as shocking as rain in Manchester.

Why a Wildcard delay is genuinely good news

Hot take incoming, but stick with us: delayed Wildcard releases are way better than on-time Wildcard releases.

Here's the rough track record on previous ASA launches when they did NOT slip:

  • Servers down for 12+ hours on launch day
  • Save corruption on at least one biome
  • Cross-map transfer bugs that ate cryopods
  • Dino spawn rates either dialled to zero or dialled to "horror movie"
  • A patch within 48 hours just to make the map playable

A 7-day delay so QA can actually finish certification? That's not a bug, that's a feature. We're rooting for them to use the time well.

What does this mean for BG Gaming's Genesis cluster?

BG Gaming is going Day 1 on Genesis Part 1 — now Thursday 2 July 2026. The prep is already done:

  • ✅ Server slot allocated and configured on our NEW box (the one running Forglar)
  • ✅ Discord bot already knows about Genesis (added to cluster registry weeks ago)
  • ✅ Server + Windows firewall rules already open for the Genesis ports
  • ✅ Plugin compatibility verified — FusionShop, LethalQuests, LethalDecay, Permissions all ready
  • ✅ ASM watchdog hooked into the standard daily restart cycle
  • ✅ Monday cluster restart routine includes Genesis from day one

We've quite literally been ready since the original 25 June date was announced. A 7-day delay isn't a problem — it just means a slightly more confident launch.

How will character transfers work to Genesis?

Character only — no inventory, no dinos, no structures.

This is a deliberate choice. Genesis Part 1 is a fresh ocean naval map with a brand-new creature (the Palaeoctopus) and a new gameplay loop. Letting players paratrooper in with a fully-kitted Imperial Giga and a vault full of element ruins the entire point.

So on Day 1:

  • Bring your survivor — your levels, your engrams, your stats come with you
  • Leave your dinos — they stay safe on your existing maps; nothing gets deleted
  • Leave your structures — same; your existing bases are untouched
  • Leave your inventory — start the new map fresh and earn your way up

This is the same "fresh start, familiar survivor" approach that's worked well for the cluster's other new-map launches.

What happens if Wildcard launch on July 2 is broken anyway?

Realistic question. BG Gaming will hold Genesis rollout for up to 24 hours past official launch if the live build is unstable. Specifically we're watching for:

  • Server crashes during the first wave of player joins (most common Wildcard launch issue)
  • Save corruption on the new ocean biome
  • Transfer bugs eating characters or items (we've seen it three times before)
  • Spawn tables that are either empty or wildly over-populated

If any of those land, we wait. Your character save is important and we don't want it getting lost in the ether. We'll post status updates in Discord as the launch lands.

If Wildcard absolutely cooks it and ships a clean build (we believe in miracles), Genesis will be playable on the BG Gaming cluster within an hour or two of the official servers going live.

Quick FAQ — Genesis Part 1 delayed release

Is ARK Genesis Part 1 delayed?

Yes. Originally scheduled for 25 June 2026, now releasing on Thursday 2 July 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. One-week delay.

Why was Genesis Part 1 delayed?

Studio Wildcard cited needing "a few extra days to complete final certification and apply the finishing touches." The most common cause of this kind of last-minute delay is failed console certification — but Wildcard has not specifically confirmed that's the case.

Is the paid Tides of Fortune expansion also delayed?

Yes. Both Genesis Part 1 (free map) and Tides of Fortune (paid pirate expansion) ship together on the new date of 2 July 2026.

Will I have to pay for the new map?

The Genesis Part 1 map and the new Palaeoctopus creature remain free for all ASA owners. Only the paired Tides of Fortune expansion — ships, Tidepup, Bob storyline — is paid DLC.

When is Genesis Part 2?

Genesis Part 2 is still planned for 2027 alongside Galaxy Wars. No firmer date yet. Yes, expect it to slip.

How do I join Genesis on BG Gaming?

If you're already on the cluster, you'll see Genesis appear in your map list once it launches on 2 July 2026. If you're not on the cluster yet, join BG Gaming — boosted PvE, 5x Taming, 2.5x Harvest, crossplay PC/Xbox/PS5, no wipe ever, 50,000 free coins on signup.
